What is being sold
You pay to uncover tiles of a photograph. The tiles are assigned at random and each one is uncovered once and only once. What you receive is that tile permanently uncovered and, if you gave a name, that name shown beside it on this site. You are not buying the photograph, any rights to it, or anything with legal or official standing.
The photograph
The image is a Landsat 7 scene released by NASA and the United States Geological Survey. It is a work of the United States government and is in the public domain. It is credited in full on this site once the picture is complete.
When it ends
When the last tile is uncovered the complete photograph is shown, with its name, its location and its source, and nothing further is offered for sale. This site does not restart with a new picture.
Availability
The site is provided as it is. We do not guarantee it will be reachable without interruption. If a payment succeeds but tiles are not uncovered, they are uncovered automatically by a reconciliation process that runs every ten minutes.
